Tarsius


         Tarsius is a genus of tarsiers, small primates native to island southeast asia. All member of tarsius found on Sulawesi (Indonesian Island). Scientific classification of tarsius is animalia for kingdom, came from chordata in phylum, mammalia class, and primates in order. Tarsius have total leght body ranges from 29.5 to 40 cm. Tarsius female have weigh 102 to 114 g and tarsius male have weigh 118 to 130 g. 

Tarsius Habitat 
           We can found Eastern Tarsius only in Sulawesi and surroundings island. But, for Western Tarsius we can found in the island of  Borneo, Sumatra, Bangka, and Belitung.

Tarsius Diet 
         Tarsius diet is insects. For example frogs,beetles, lizard, and grasshoper. Tarsius hunt an insects with jump from one tree to other tree, And they drink water several times throughout the night. Because tarsius is nocturnal animals so they find some prey at night.
Habbit
           Tarsius ussually live in pairs or small familly groups. They are highly social animals.Do you know? When two adult tarsius are phsycal contact, they spend all of their time to resting and socializing. When less than 10 m apart, they forage and, when they are 50 to 100 m apart they spend most their time to do traveling. Tarsier also engage play behavior, snuggling, allogrooming, and foodsharing.

For your information tarsiers primarily insectivorous, and may aid the mitigation of insect pest population. Tarsiers also draw tourists to come to Indonesian island because tarsius are endemic animals from Indonesia. And tarsius are beneficial to humans financially as a form of ecotourism.
